Merkel: Islam Belongs to Germany

BERLIN – Offering support to the Muslim community, German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced she will attend a vigil for tolerance in Berlin, in a clear message against rising anti-Islam, far-right group Pegida.

“Islam belongs to Germany,” Merkel said, speaking out against marches by Pegida in parts of the country, Agence France Presse (AFP) reported on Tuesday, January 13.

The rally, held on Tuesday afternoon at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, is organized by the Central Council of Muslims in Germany.
It is held under the banner “Let’s be there for each other. Terror: not in our name!”

Merkel said she will attend the rally to promote tolerance, condemn the attacks in Paris and send a rebuke to Germany’s growing anti-Islamic movement.

Getty Prince William and Duchess Kate. Although fewer young people are getting married today than ever before, research suggests that getting and staying married is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
As Reporters recently concluded, "being married makes people happier and more satisfied with their lives than those who remain single — particularly during the most stressful periods, like midlife crises."

But how do you know if you should get hitched in the first place?

We asked Peter Pearson, couples therapist and cofounder of the Couples Institute of Menlo Park, California.

It's hard to build passion if it's low at the beginning. If I could find a way to build passion where passion was low, I'd be richer than Bill Gates."

When officers arrived at the scene, Ajibade was said to be standing with his girlfriend, and holding her tightly. They both had a blanket over their heads.

The girlfriend subsequently removed the blanket when authorities arrived, and when she did so, her face appeared to be bruised and her nose was bleeding, police allege.
